Selection and Interview Process at Volvo
The interview process at Volvo typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Online Application: You start the application process by submitting your details through the Volvo Group Careers portal. During this step, you provide your educational background, upload your resume, and, if required, include a cover letter to support your application.
2. Resume Screening: Volvo’s recruitment team reviews applications by evaluating candidates’ eligibility, considering factors such as their degree, year of graduation, academic performance, and suitability for the role. According to some sources, candidates are expected to have maintained at least 65% marks consistently throughout their 10th, 12th, and graduation.
3. Online Assessment: Shortlisted candidates might be asked to complete an aptitude test or technical assessment as part of the selection process. This assessment is designed to evaluate skills such as logical reasoning, domain-specific knowledge, and technical abilities relevant to the particular Graduate Apprentice Trainee role.
4. Technical Interview: Following the assessment, if conducted, candidates usually face a technical interview. For engineering positions, this interview often focuses on fundamental concepts related to the candidate’s field, such as mechanical, materials, or other domain-specific knowledge.
5. HR Interview: Once candidates clear the technical rounds, they usually proceed to HR or behavioral interviews. The interview primarily assesses cultural fit, motivation, teamwork, and communication skills.
6. Final Selection/ Offer: If you successfully clear all interview rounds, you may receive an offer for the Graduate Apprentice Trainee (GAT) position, including details about the stipend. Since this is an apprenticeship, the offer typically emphasizes that the role is for training purposes and does not guarantee full-time employment.
