Selection and Interview Process at Ingram Micro
The interview process at Ingram Micro typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Application & Resume Shortlisting: In this stage, recruiters carefully review candidates’ resumes to evaluate their academic performance, including percentage or CGPA, along with the technical skills they have mentioned. They also look at projects, internships, certifications, and knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. A well-structured resume with relevant technical skills, practical experience, and clear project descriptions can significantly improve the chances of getting shortlisted for the next rounds.
2. Online Assessment: Candidates are required to complete an online test that evaluates their analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and basic technical knowledge. The assessment commonly includes an aptitude section with questions related to quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and basic verbal ability. These questions are designed to test a candidate’s numerical skills, logical thinking, comprehension, and overall aptitude for problem-solving under time constraints.
3. Technical Interview: This section mainly focuses on Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) concepts, data structures, and basic algorithms. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of topics such as classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, searching, and sorting algorithms. The purpose of this round is to evaluate problem-solving ability, coding logic, and understanding of core computer science concepts essential for software development roles.
4. HR / Behavioral Interview: This round is generally conversational and less technical compared to the technical interview. One of the most common questions asked is “Tell me about yourself,” where interviewers expect candidates to briefly explain their educational background, technical skills, academic or personal projects, internships, and career interests. The purpose of this round is to understand the candidate’s confidence, attitude, teamwork abilities, and overall professional behavior.
Basic Interview Questions

- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
