Selection and Interview Process at Cognizant
The interview process at Cognizant typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Application & Resume Shortlisting: Candidates apply online through the Cognizant careers portal or recruitment platforms such as Superset. Recruiters then review applications to ensure candidates meet the eligibility criteria, including academic performance, relevant qualifications, and required percentages.
2. Aptitude / Screening Test: Shortlisted candidates are required to take an online aptitude assessment. This test typically evaluates quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and verbal skills. Depending on the hiring drive, it may also include a communication assessment.
3. Communication Assessment: In certain hiring drives, Cognizant conducts a communication assessment either alongside or after the aptitude test. This round evaluates a candidate’s spoken English and communication skills. In some cases, it is combined with the initial screening and is mandatory to clear, though it may not be an elimination round.
4. Technical Interview: The technical interview is typically the main evaluation stage and may be conducted online or in person, depending on the recruitment process.
5. HR / Managerial Round: In this round, candidates are evaluated on their overall profile, career motivations, soft skills, and cultural fit.
