Selection and Interview Process at Lumel
The interview process at Lumel typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Application Submission & Resume Screening: Candidates apply through LinkedIn or the company’s career portal. The recruitment team reviews resumes to check eligibility, such as a BE/B.Tech background in Computer Science and strong technical fundamentals. Having a GitHub profile, LeetCode activity, or relevant project work can significantly improve shortlisting chances.
2. Initial HR / Screening Call: Shortlisted applicants receive an initial call from HR. This conversation typically covers your educational background, interests, and communication skills. The purpose is to confirm your eligibility and assess your interest in the role.
3. Aptitude & Coding Assessment: Candidates typically go through an aptitude test that evaluates verbal ability, logical reasoning, and basic quantitative skills. This is followed by an onsite coding round focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). Past interview tasks have included problems such as array rotations and element counting.
4. Technical Rounds: Candidates who clear the aptitude and coding assessment proceed to one or more technical interview rounds. These interviews involve detailed discussions of your coding solutions, debugging and optimization questions, and project-based or whiteboard problem-solving exercises.
5. HR / Final Round: The final round is an HR discussion focused on understanding your role expectations, assessing team fit, and evaluating communication skills and cultural alignment. This round is generally more straightforward than the technical interviews, with an emphasis on your mindset, motivation, and interest in the role.
