Selection and Interview Process at Siemens
The interview process at Siemens typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Resume Shortlisting: They primarily focus on the quality and relevance of your projects, as these demonstrate your practical skills and problem-solving ability. In addition, they look at your technical skills such as coding, electronics, or automation depending on the role you are applying for. Academic performance, including your CGPA, also plays a role, especially in campus recruitment, as it helps indicate your consistency and foundational knowledge.
2. Online Assessment: This round typically evaluates a candidate’s aptitude through questions on quantitative ability and logical reasoning. It may also include basic coding or data structures and algorithms problems to assess problem-solving skills. In some cases, candidates are additionally tested on core subject knowledge through multiple-choice questions, depending on their field of study.
3. Technical Interview: In this stage, interviewers typically focus heavily on your projects, asking for in-depth explanations of the architecture, tools used, and the decisions you made during development. They may also ask what improvements you would make to your work. Alongside this, they assess your understanding of core subjects relevant to your field for computer science students, this includes DSA, OOPs, DBMS, and operating systems, while for electrical students, topics such as motors, VFDs, PLCs, and power systems are common.
4. HR Behavioral Round: In this stage, the focus shifts from technical skills to your personality, communication, and cultural fit within the company. Interviewers commonly ask questions such as why you want to join Siemens, your strengths and weaknesses, examples of teamwork or leadership experiences, and your willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment.
