Eligibility

  • TCS All India NQT Hiring is exclusively open to for the Batch of 2024, 2025 and 2026 – Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)/Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)/Master of Technology (M.Tech.)/Master of Engineering (M.E)/Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A)/Master of Science (M.Sc./M.S) in any specialization offered by AICTE/UGC recognized universities/colleges.
  • Candidates should have a minimum aggregate (all subjects to be included for calculation) of 60% or equivalent CGPA in class 10th, 12th, Diploma (if applicable), Graduation and Post-Graduation (if applicable).
  • No pending backlog will be permitted at the time of appearing for the TCS selection process.
  • No extended education will be allowed. Candidates should have completed the course in the stipulated course duration.
  • It is mandatory to declare gaps in education, if any. Overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until highest qualification. Relevant documents, as applicable, will be checked for gaps.

Selection and Interview Process at TCS

The interview process at TCS typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.

1. Application & Eligibility Screening: Candidates apply through the TCS NextStep Portal or via their college placement cell. During screening, TCS verifies academic eligibility criteria, which typically include a minimum of 60% in 10th, 12th, and graduation, no active backlogs at the time of joining and limited academic gaps.

2. Online Assessment: For most trainee-level roles such as Ninja, Prime, or Digital, candidates are required to appear for the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) conducted by Tata Consultancy Services. The TCS NQT is generally the first and mandatory stage of the selection process. The assessment typically evaluates candidates across multiple sections, including Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Programming Logic, to measure both aptitude and basic technical skills.

3. Technical Interview: The technical interview primarily focuses on evaluating your core technical knowledge. Interviewers may assess your understanding of programming languages such as C, Java, or Python, along with concepts related to data structures, algorithms, and basic operating systems and DBMS. You may be asked to solve coding problems, explain the projects mentioned on your resume, or answer fundamental technical questions.

4. Managerial Round: In some hiring drives conducted by Tata Consultancy Services, a managerial round may be included. While it is not always conducted separately, many trainee candidates face this stage. The questions are generally behavioral or situational, focusing on areas such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

5. Offer & Onboarding: Candidates who successfully clear all selection rounds receive an official offer letter from TCS outlining the role, compensation package, and joining instructions. Before final onboarding, the company conducts a background verification process to validate academic and personal details.
