Selection and Interview Process at Flowserve

The interview process at Flowserve typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.

1. Resume Shortlisting: In the resume shortlisting stage, recruiters quickly scan your CV to check for basic technical skills such as networking, operating systems, and troubleshooting, along with your communication abilities and any experience in support or customer-facing roles, since they typically spend only a few seconds reviewing each application, making clarity and relevance essential

2. HR Screening: If shortlisted, the next step is an initial HR or phone screening, which usually lasts around 10–20 minutes and focuses on understanding your background through questions like “Tell me about yourself” and “Why are you interested in this role or company?”, while also informally assessing your communication skills and overall fit.

3. Technical Round: In this round, you are typically asked questions on networking basics such as the difference between a router and a modem, concepts like IP address and DNS, and an understanding of the OSI model. In addition to theory, interviewers also focus on practical troubleshooting scenarios, for example asking how you would handle a situation where the internet is not working, to evaluate your logical thinking and step-by-step approach to resolving technical issues.

4. Behavioral / Scenario Round: In this stage, you can expect questions such as “Tell me about a time you handled a difficult customer” or “How do you prioritize multiple issues?” The goal is to assess your communication skills, problem-solving approach, and ability to manage customer interactions effectively, often based on practical scenarios you may encounter on the job.

Basic Interview Questions

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Describe your ideal work environment.
  • How do you handle criticism or feedback?
  • What are your salary expectations?
  • Why do you want to work here?
  • What motivates you to perform well at work?
