Eligibility

  • Courses and Discipline:  3 years full-time graduates from BCA, B.Sc (IT, Computer Science, Maths, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Cybersecurity, Biochemistry), B.Voc (CS/IT) from the Batch of 2026 are eligible.
  • Percentage: Minimum aggregate (aggregate of all subjects in all semesters) of 50% or above or equivalent CGPA in each of Class 10th, Class 12th, Diploma (if applicable), Graduation which includes successful completion of final year/semester.
  • Backlogs: No backlog  at the time of appearing for the TCS selection process is permitted.
  • It is mandatory that the course is completed within the stipulated time duration without any backlogs at the time of joining TCS, if selected.
  • Gap/Break in education: It is mandatory for students to declare gaps in education, if any, in the TCS Application Form. The overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until the highest qualification. Relevant document proof, as applicable, will be checked for gaps in education.

Selection and Interview Process at TCS Ignite

The interview process at TCS Ignite typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.

1. Online Assessment: Candidates first appear for the TCS iON online test, which is conducted in an in-centre mode. The assessment is generally 120 minutes long and evaluates candidates in Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning. An optional coding section is also included, where candidates can solve programming problems in languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python. Performance in this test determines whether a candidate is shortlisted for the interview.

2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are required to complete a document verification process before or on the day of the interview. Academic certificates, government-issued ID proof, passport-size photographs, and other required documents are verified to confirm eligibility.

3. Technical / HR Interview: The final stage of the TCS Ignite Trainee selection process is usually a combined Technical and HR interview lasting around 20–40 minutes. During this round, interviewers evaluate your technical knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability for the trainee role. The discussion typically begins with a self-introduction, followed by questions about your resume, academic background, and projects. Interviewers may also assess your knowledge of DBMS and SQL fundamentals through conceptual or scenario-based questions to evaluate your problem-solving ability and technical foundation.
