Selection and Interview Process at TTEC
The interview process at TTEC typically comprises three rounds, starting with a technical, Managerial or Case study proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Resume Shortlisting / Initial Screening: The process usually begins with resume screening followed by a recruiter or HR interaction. You may be asked to introduce yourself, explain your educational or work background, discuss your customer-service interest, and confirm your availability for the role. Some candidates also report questions about working in shifts and their comfort with the job location.
2. Online Assessment: The assessment can test English grammar, reading/comprehension, basic aptitude and reasoning, and customer-service judgment. For chat-support positions, English communication is particularly important because the role involves resolving customer issues through chat, email, text, social media, and other digital channels.
3. Chat / Typing Assessment: A dedicated chat round may evaluate your typing speed, accuracy, grammar, spelling, chat etiquette, and ability to respond clearly and quickly. Candidates have reported being given customer-care situations through a chat interface and having to type appropriate responses within a limited time.
4. Operational / Customer-Service Interview: The operational round generally focuses on how you would handle customers. Questions may include “What would you do if an angry customer complains about a service?”, “How would you handle multiple chats at the same time?”, “What does good customer service mean to you?”, and scenario-based questions involving refunds, complaints, delays, or technical issues. The interviewer is mainly looking for patience, empathy, problem-solving, and clear communication.
5. HR / Final Interview: The final HR round usually covers “Tell me about yourself,” “Why do you want to join TTEC?”, “Why are you interested in chat support?”, “Are you comfortable working rotational/night shifts?”, “Are you comfortable working from the office?”, and salary/availability-related questions. Recent candidate reports for TTEC in Ahmedabad also mention basic introduction and questions about why the candidate wanted to join TTEC after pursuing an IT career.
