Job Description
- Executes with guidance overall mining systems design, supply chain interface, service interface, validation testing, and other items as assigned.
- Identifies and maintains Drive System application requirements and specifications. Coordinates any customer field testing required to verify and validate design.
- Coordinates with lead systems engineers and customers as needed to document and communicate requirements to the electric machines designers, structural engineers, bearing engineers, production, supplier, and test resources to ensure alternator design meets all requirements.
- Directs equipment assembly and / or disassembly, documenting remarkable findings according to business needs.
- Communicates to the Lead Systems Engineers the validation and any other testing requirements from conception to execution of tests and disposition of material.
- Leads failure analysis and issue resolution.
- Collaborates with Product Quality / Service, reports and drives investigations, remediation, root cause, etc.
- Prepares design reviews according to business processes, presents material and completes action items and any other documentation required.
- Coordinates systems testing required to verify and validate design, characterize the machine electrical, thermal, ventilation and mechanical parameters.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in an engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
- Master’s of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Minimum one year experience in a design or product engineering role.
- Experience with GE Transportation mining, locomotive or other industrial type electric machines and test methods.
- Membership, or active involvement within a member company, of IEEE or other applicable electromechanical machine industry groups.
