Selection and Interview Process at Cvent
The interview process at Cvent typically comprises three rounds, starting with a technical assessment, proceeding to a Managerial interview for applicable roles, and concluding with a final HR interview.
1. Online Assessment: The first stage may involve an online assessment covering basic programming, logical/aptitude questions, and technical fundamentals. Depending on the hiring channel, coding questions may also be included. Recent Cvent campus experiences report MCQ-based screening followed by coding questions.
2. Technical interview: The technical round is likely to be the most important stage for Cloud Operations. The current role focuses on AWS infrastructure, automation, Linux, networking, scripting, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code. Topics to prepare include AWS EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, Lambda, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, Linux commands, Python/Bash scripting, CloudFormation/Terraform, and basic databases.
3. Project Discussion: Interviewers may ask you to explain projects listed on your resume, particularly any involving AWS, cloud deployment, Python automation, Linux, networking, databases, DevOps, or scripting. Be prepared to explain why you selected a particular technology, what problems you faced, how you solved them, and what you personally contributed. Cvent interview experiences also indicate that interviewers can go into considerable detail about candidates’ projects.
4. Managerial/Behavioral Round: A managerial discussion may focus on problem-solving, ownership, teamwork, communication, learning ability, and handling operational issues. You could be asked questions such as Tell me about yourself, describe a difficult technical problem you solved, how would you handle a production issue, how do you prioritize tasks, and tell me about a time you worked in a team.
5. HR/Final Round: The final discussion generally covers motivation, career goals, availability, internship expectations, relocation/work location, and cultural fit. Cvent’s current recruitment information also emphasizes the ability to use AI thoughtfully to learn, iterate, and improve work, so candidates should be prepared to discuss how they use AI tools responsibly while still applying their own technical judgment.
