1. Application and Resume Screening: The recruitment team reviews the candidate’s resume, academic background, relevant coursework, projects, and familiarity with data analysis tools. Candidates with knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python, statistics, data visualization, or business intelligence tools may be considered depending on the role requirements. Highlight projects where you cleaned data, analyzed trends, created dashboards, or presented meaningful insights.

2. Online Assessment: Some hiring processes may include an online assessment to evaluate analytical reasoning, numerical ability, logical thinking, and basic technical knowledge. For a data analyst internship, preparation should focus on SQL queries, Excel formulas, data interpretation, descriptive statistics, and basic Python or R, depending on the job description.

3. Technical Interview: The technical interview generally focuses on data analysis, SQL, Excel, statistics, and project-based problem-solving. Candidates may be asked to explain their analytical approach, demonstrate how they handle missing or inconsistent data, interpret datasets, and communicate findings. Depending on the team, questions may also cover Python or R, data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and basic statistical concepts.

Candidates may be asked about their academic background, previous projects, ability to meet deadlines, and reasons for applying to Eli Lilly. Recent candidate reports also describe behavioral questions about strengths, weaknesses, teamwork, and handling challenges.

5. Final Selection and Offer: After the interviews, the hiring team evaluates the candidate’s technical abilities, interview performance, project experience, and overall suitability for the internship. Selected candidates are informed of the decision by phone or email, according to Lilly’s official internship information.
