Selection and Interview Process at Salesforce
The interview process at Salesforce typically comprises three to four rounds, starting with a Phone screening or aptitude assessment, then technical round, proceeding to a HR interview for applicable roles.
1. Online Assessment: For APAC graduate hiring, Salesforce states that candidates may first take a HackerRank coding/technical assessment, followed by a communication assessment. The assessment is designed to evaluate technical aptitude and may include programming, logical reasoning, and computer-science fundamentals.
2. Communication Assessment: Candidates may have a separate communication assessment, particularly in the APAC hiring process. This evaluates how clearly you communicate and explain ideas. Since the role involves working with customers and global teams, focus on spoken English, clarity, structured explanations, and confidence.
3. Technical Interview – Salesforce & Programming: The first major interview generally focuses on your technical fundamentals and Salesforce knowledge. Questions can cover Apex, Salesforce configuration, object relationships, SOQL/SOSL, triggers, security and permissions, Flow, APIs, integrations, data migration, and scenario-based Salesforce problems.
4. Managerial / Techno-Managerial Interview: The final round is often a hiring-manager or techno-managerial interview. Salesforce says its interview process can include a hiring-manager/team interview and a final presentation depending on the role.
Basic Interview Questions
- Tell me about yourself.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Describe your ideal work environment.
- How do you handle criticism or feedback?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Why do you want to work here?
- What motivates you to perform well at work?
